Electrolytes ?: First thing to do is to rule out electrolyte abnormalities and other readily treatable conditions. We typically see fasciculations of the tongue with ALS. another condition that can produce diffuse muscle twitching is hyperthyroidism. After excluding toxic / metabolic problems see a neurologist for an EMG and check of spinal fluid. (ALS and related disorders)
