Are you given a muscle relaxer during arthroscopic shoulder surgery?

Most nerve blocks...: We do many shoulder arthoscopies; most all patients receive an inter scalene block pre-op followed by a general anesthesia with muscle relaxation( more ' muscle relaxation' can be given during surgery if needed or requested). Check w/ your anesthesiologist about concerns and type and or medication they may use . Best of Luck!

Usually not: Arthroscopic shoulder is usually short (an hour or less) and muscle relaxants are not needed
