Candidiasis: 'Thrush' or candidal pharyngitis causes sore throat and problems swallowing, also called 'dysphagia.' A bad case of thrush can spread from throat down to esophagus causing candidal esophagitis which exacerbates dysphagia. Finally, candida can colonize the esophagus selectively without visible thrush in the throat. Nonspecific symptoms like indigestion, soreness, pain, dysphagia all possible.
