Normal ovulation: The LH surge, which is measured by the ovulation predictor kits, will only be positive 24 to 48 hours. This is normal. Your best chance of getting pregnant is having sex a couple days before the ovulation predictor is positive until the day after it is negative. This sperm can stay alive for up to five days. after release the egg can only be fertilized for a short period of time.
