Of course: You want you hands to be clean to prevent the introduction of contaminants into the eye during contact lens insertion. Any type of hand cleaner is fine and baby shampoo will also do well although not universally available. The eye does a terrific job of cleaning itself and a regimen of hand cleaning will lend it an assist.
