GERD complications: Don't listen to internet - it's a spooky place. 35yo male nonsmoker with anxiety and dysphagia is very likely to have GERD and very unlikely to have throat cancer. Even GERD can have a lot of complications - some serious. Don't dismiss it as 'just' GERD but do treat aggressively for at least 2-3 months. But also see an ENT for a complete scope exam to confirm diagnosis.

EGD.: An EGD can clear up the issue for you. Have you had one of those? A GI doctor should be able to determine the presence or absence of cancer in the esophagus or stomach by an EGD. That being said, GERD and laryngopharyngeal reflux can cause a feeling of tightness in the throat.
