Yes: Ask for a copy of the biopsy report and if possible have two pathologists sign out on it. These is quite big for simple reactive nodes.

Yes: The size of the lymph nodes are larger than expected. It is not uncommon though for kids to have enlarged lymph nodes in their neck (depending on age), but they are usually about a centimeter. If the child is old enough to have mono they could get this large, but lab work is helpful and has probably been done by your doctor. There is not much risk in the procedure.
