When a lymph node is malignant does that mean there is a mass inside it? my lymph nodes were not clearly defined on ultrasound, what does that mean?

Possible: When there are cancer cells in the lymph node , it is malignant. You don't necessarily have a mass inside the lymph node but just malignant cells. And at early stages , the size of lymph node might not be enlarged.
