How far down does the femoral artery go in the groin area?

Few cm: The femoral artery is a continuation of the external iliac artery. It travels in the groin a few centimeters then branches into the deep and superficial femoral arteries. The superficial artery then travels to just above the knee cap where it becomes the popliteal artery.
