UTI and sex: Women have shorter urethras than men and have an increased incidence of UTI's. If a woman has intercourse, she should get up and urinate as soon as possible after coitus to flush the bacteria out of her bladder. Other practices like wiping away from the vagina after a bowel movement will also help prevent UTI's. If you have them frequently, see a urologist to make sure you do not have a problem.
