Not enough research has been done to know the answer. However, there has been some indication that proteins, amino acids (leucine, arginine, glutamine), vitamins C and D, manganese, copper, zinc, and phytochemicals do possibly have some benefit. What is most important is good healthy eating in general, regular exercising and adequate stretching of tendons and muscles.
