A 53-year-old female asked:
Would there be any side effects from removal of ovaries after menopause? I have read that they stop working, but also that they work until age 65.

Ovaries do not: Work till age 65 ! may still be producing some hormones in the early to mid 50s so you may get some hot flashes that can be easily treated.

A 62-year-old female asked:
I can feel my ovaries, post menopausal?

Get examined now: You need to be immediately examined by a GYN MD to determine if, in fact, those are your ovaries that are enlarged. Post menopausal ovaries tend to "shrink" in size and are not palpable abdominally even in reproductive age women. Ovarian cysts and cancers are a concern.
