A member asked:

What to do if i have been diagnosed with a condition similar to myotonia congenita (fainting goats)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Condition similar?: Similar conditions to MC include paramyotonia congenita, hyperkalemic periodic paralysis, and thyroid disease. The diagnosis is secured by a muscle biopsy with the appropriate staining. Symptoms include muscle cramps which may improve with repetitive use and may be worse during acute stress. There is treatment for symptomatic cases and thus should be discussed with your treating Neurologist.
