A member asked:

How can i tell if i have taken too many courses of antibiotics for my ingrown toenail problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most of the time: One does not even need antibiotics, as when the offending nail is removed the infection drains and goes away. Sometimes to help clear up the infection a course of antibiotics is given. Every so often that antibiotic may need to be changed. It is highly unusual to get a third dose and likely the nail surgery needs to be re examined or repeated for a left over nail.
