Dr. Johanna Fricke answered

Start by having : neuropsychological testing, perhaps by grad students at U.T. for accurate diagnosis, treatment plan & accommodations. Auditory Processing Disorder is a "garbage bag" term into which are thrown many specific deficits that impact the processing of auditory information. Dyslexia, caused by the brain's inability to process phonemes, begins in early childhood & is usually diagnosed by 3rd grade.
