Yes: Hi. Thyroid hormone is very effective (PERFECTLY effective) at replacing thyroid hormone deficiency. The dose needs to be right (based on TSH & free T4 testing).

Yes: For the most part. You have to properly store the thyroid replacement and take same time daily. There are rare cases where only brand name synthroid (thyroxine) works and generic doesn't work but this is rare
