IgG4- related disease (IgG4-RD) is a condition in which there is inflammation and scarring in any number of tissues such as the eyes, the salivary glands, the pancreas, etc. IgG4-RD is believed to be an autoimmune disorder. The cells responsible are Immunoglobulin G4 positive plasma cells which gives us the name of the disorder.
