Bisphosphonates: Fosamax (alendronate) and other bisphosphonates may increase risks of unusual condition, osteonecrosis of the jaw. This complication develops when the jaw bone fails to heal after a tooth extraction or other bone intervention (e.g. implant placement). Any routine dental procedures like cleaning, filings are safe. Hope it helps.
