A member asked:

Is it possible to be on seroquel (quetiapine) for a long time and gotten tardive dykeniasia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It is possible: Although newer antipsychotic medications are less likely to cause extrapyramidal symptoms such as tardive dyskinesia, Seroquel/quetiapine does have this risk, especially if take for a long time and at a high dose. This is why it is important for a doctor to monitor a patient for abnormal movements and only use a medication if benefits outweigh risks.
