It depends: If you had hives that come and go, last less than 24 hours and don't leave marks unless you scratch, then you can take antihistamines such as cetirizine or fexofenadine. I you haves have been in the same place for 5 months, don't itch or leave scars when they go away, or don't respond to reasonable doses of antihistamines, see a physician if you haven't yet.
