Continuous pain: The frequency of pain occurrence is known as its temporal behavior. Pain that is episodic in nature with extended pain-free periods is intermittent, whereas continuous pain does not have any pain-free periods. With continuous pain, the intensity may vary during the day or night, but it is always present at some detectable level. Hope it helps.
