Treatment: Overtime escitalopram can reduce the severity and frequency of panic attacks. It is not used to abort a panic attack the is emerging

Panic, clonazepam: You should always review side effects of medication with the doc who originally prescribed them, and then discuss any changes. Clonazepam can cause memory side effects, so you may be helped by tapering off (under your docs supervision). Escitalopram is a first line med in treatment of panic disorder and, if the dose is sufficient, cause significant amelioration if not resolution of your panic.
