A member asked:

Producing breast milk, definitely not pregnant. never breastfed, no visible tumor on mri. why could this be happening?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Elevated prolactin: Milk production is generally a result of elevated prolactin. Besides tumor, prolactin can be elevated in response to significant stress, hypothyroidism, repetitive nipple stimulation, and other body tumors. Drugs, especially certain psychotropic medications, and marijuana are known to raise levels.
