14 days from day 1: the most consistent part of the cycle is usually the last 14 days. So for all cycles, count 14 days back from when you expect the next period. For a 28 day cycle, ovulation should be on cycle d 14. ( we count the first day of blood as day 1). If cycles are usually 30-31 days, then ovulaiton may be cycle day 16-17. For shorter cycles, one may ovulate as early as day 10. These are averages only
