Cyclobenzaprine: Most muscle relaxants exert their effects centrally by diminishing the tonic flow of impulses to skeletal muscles. Because muscle relaxants also have a sedative effect, some patients may be reluctant to take them during the daytime. Cyclobenzaprine is particularly interesting for it is structurally and pharmacologically related to the tricyclic antidepressants. Hope it helps.
