Hi intensity statin : Simple answer is that the large randomized control trials have shown that statins(specifically Atorvastatin -lipitor and rousvastatin-crestor) have the best proven results in decreasing subsequent cardiovascular risks. This is only shown for the higher dosages of these drugs so you need the higher doses.
