Medical Society: You may want to call your county´s medical society for a list of board certified child and adolescent psychiatrists. Another source is your pediatrician, family doc and your child´s therapist. Lastly call your insurance carrier for a list.

Child psych.: Best resource is your local mental health center and yellow pages.

Child Psychiatry: Doctors specializing with treating children & adolescents had obtained board certification in general psychiatry & did extra training & certification to specialize in working with youngsters.

Child & Adol. Psych.: The Child/Adoescent Psychiatry has received training beyond 3-4 years of Adult Psychiatry for 2 year in Child and Adolesced Psychiatry. He evaluates childrens and adolescents behavior, thinking, & emotions state. He is an advocate for the child. He identifies and treats psychiatric disorders and utilizing various therapetuic methods (Behavoral, cognitive therapy & medication when indicated.

Strongly: encourage working with a fellowship trained child psychiatrist for any complex mental health issues for children/ teens. Developmental specialist is another good option. Take care.
