A member asked:

What gas is usually used with iv general anethesia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There are choices: General anesthesia simply means that a patient is completely unconscious. This can be done just with IV medications and no gas. Commonly, some gas is used. In the US it is usually either sevoflurane or desflurane, and sometimes nitrous oxide is used in addition.
