Metallic taste: This is often very difficult to find the cause. If this does not disappear over time, a thorough dental, medical and neurologic exam is often necessary, yet may not determine the cause. Check first with your dentist to rule out any dental problems. Then check with your medical doctor. Drugs, diet, head, neck, oral and systemic infections, smoking, neurologic changes are all possibilities.
