Sharp Chest Pain: Sharp chest pain is not infrequently due to musculoskeletal problems. Coronary artery (heart) pain is more typically a dull continuous pain, increase with activity, just left of the sternum and radiating toward the left sholder. It gives a sensation that there is pressure upon the chest. This latter finding is important. A doctor visit for evaluation is necessary
