A member asked:

Can you tell me for our neurology practical exam we were told we had to analyse gait even in the upper extremity examination and i can't remember why. any help?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Arm swing: Arm swing is also part of the gait assessment. A person with Parkinson's typically shuffles their feet and has no, or minimal, arm swing. A person with an old stroke may have increased tone in the arm and hold it at their side. Good luck on the exam!
