I dont know: that it increases chances, but should help maturing embryo/fetus once there is a conception.

No: Folic acid will not improve pregnancy chances, but it's important you be taking Folic acid before conception. It will reduce the risk of the baby having spina bifida, cleft lip, heart defects, and now research shows it reduced the risk of autism.
