I am 14 weeks and was just diagnosed with acrania. i took folic acids before n during my pregnancy so why did it happen. ?

We may never know: Really sorry for this bad news. Acrania is a very rare congenital anomaly of the bones of the skull which unfortunately is not well understood, can be associated with anencephaly but not attributed to a folic acid deficiency. Folic acid vitamins protect against neural tube defects like meningomyelocele, spina bifida ...but not acrania. An Obs geneticist can confirm your verylow risk of recurrence
