A member asked:

I have a severe cough but no fever, what to do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cough, no fever: I would ask if the cough is dry, or productive of phlegm, and, if so, the color. Some people do not mount a high fever. Severe cough should be evaluated by your physician. They may be able to diagnose a pneumonia by lung exam, but you may need to have an xray. Persistent cough may also be a sign of allergies or asthma. You should be examined.
