I've been entirely emptied out in order for the colonoscopy to work. so how will he see my colon if i can't even be emptied out by the colonoscopy laxative?

You may need more: you may need more laxatives to liquify your stool. if you don't have bowel movements with the laxative, it is unlikely your gastroenterologist will be able to do a good exam
