How are mood disorder and premenstrual syndrome diagnosed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Clinical interview: The diagnoses are made after consulting with your doctor. The mood symptoms in premenstrual disorders occur near the end of each monthly cycle. At other times, the individual feels normal. Mood disorder symptoms occur irrespective of where someone is in the menstrual cycle although depression symptoms can worsen premenstrually.
