By doing the level: The blood pregnancy test - HCG - goes up as soon as a woman becomes pregnant, and will double every 2-4 days in the first trimester in a normal pregnancy. To know if the HCG level is rising appropriately I have my patients check the blood HCG level 3-4 days apart. That will show if the level is rising appropriately.
