A member asked:

Why is hands and feet spared in tetanus?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tetanus: Hand and foot spasms are very common in this illness mediated by the world's second most powerful toxin. It interrupts transmission across nerve endings resulting in hyper-contractility of muscle groups throughout the body. Hands and feet are not spared, although in any given person the manifestations may differ.
