Infection or stone: Not sure of the location of the sharp pain, but this could either be a urinary tract infection (UTI) or a stone in the urinary system. UTI are common in women and depending if the bladder is infected (usual) or kidney (more serious), the pain and symptoms will be different. A kidney stone starts in the kidney and gets caught in the ureter, causing very sharp flank pain. See your MD if no better
