How doyou know if i have irritable bowel syndrome?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Your symptoms?: Irritable bowel syndrome is kind of a catch-all name for a group of functional bowel disorders- called this because anatomically all is normal. There is an exaggerated response to stimuli: for instance, intestinal activity that someone without ibs wouldn't feel can be experienced as quite painful by someone with ibs. People may experience primarily diarrhea, constipation, or alternation of both.
