Caffeine Stimulant: If "Cafe" meant either coffee or caffeine, the caffeine-like stimulants cause mild increases in heart rate, mental stimulation and other Mild disturbances to anesthesia. In healthy individuals, these are Not a problem. Caffeine is rarely given intravenously in an operation, but it will increase fluid production around the brain and spinal cord. This is helpful if there is a spinal fluid leak.
