No – not typically: For a rib to fracture during exercise, the force would have to be “extreme”, associated with a significant blow – contact sports, or for there to be some pathologic condition related to the rib. Short of a rib fracture – intercostal muscle sprain – “pulled rib”is a common sport and exercise related pain condition. For persistent problems, get it checked out.
