Pityriasis alba? : i can't enlarge your profile pic on my iPad but light (hypopigmented) spots on the face are often this. If they continue to spread or enlarge, it could be a condition called vitiligo, which is an autoimmune attack on the cells that make color in your skin. This sometimes happens with old acne scars, too, but they are more likely to turn dark than light.
