Depends: Pimples-acne-are caused from skin bacteria that like to survive on the normal oils on your skin. The mainstay of treatment is to reduce the oil on your skin (the food source) - washing face and using a benzoyl peroxide type product. If that isn't enough, seeking care from your doctor to get a topical antibiotic medication might help. Sometimes even more medications (pills) are necessary.

Hard to say: There are some that finish puberty only to deal with acne into their 30's or 40's. Best to get on a good basic skin care plan and stick with it as long as you need it.Your PCP or dermatologist can tailor a plan to meet the needs of your skin type.
