On what day of cycle should estradiol be checked i go day 16 then again 23 for progesterone?

Hormone levels: Your female hormone levels vary with your cycle. The Progesterone is most consequential in that a day 21 level greater than 4 signals that you have ovulated. If you are only using clomid, (clomiphene) measuring estrogen level less important.
