Okay,...: Okay to wait as long as being afebrile. In fact, I would like to applaud your Doc of doing diligence in practicing medicine without aimless use of antibiotics. But, at times, empirical use of certain antibiotics is still needed if Hx of recurrent UTIs & local bacterial pattern support it. For one at 51, it's useful to assure your bladder can empty. More detail? Ask and work with Doc timely.
