1.5 weeks ago, i fell & drs tell me i injured a nerve in foot, i have burning outside foot & heel, swelling and cold foot. what can help till next appt?

Ice and heat: Use ice on the foot two or three times a day for no more than 15 minutes at a time. You can alternate with heat. Time is the main thing that helps heal- these things just help to keep things from getting a bit chronic and out of control.

Needs an evaluation: Need more information regarding the injury. It would be very hard to JUST injure a nerve and nothing else. Burning, tingling, sharp, shooting pain indicates nerve issues. Rest, anti-inflammatories are your best bet. If it bothers you that much, may need to get a removable cast for further rest.
