Don't worry.: A wide superior mediastinum has many causes. But it is important you find out what it is. This way every time you have an X-ray someone is going to go bananas trying to figure it out. Seriously , since this could be anything from a congenital variant to lymph nodes it is important to know. One CT will not cause you trouble with radiation as long as there are few of these studies performed.
