Closed cervix: The cervix will have a different appearance depending on your age, where you are in the menstrual cycle and how many vaginal deliveries you have had. You will have to ask the doctor who did your exam if this is an issue. Usually it is not and a pap smear can be done just fine.

Does not mean much: If patient is seen for bleeding problem and cervix is stenosed, it is difficult to do a endometrial biopsy. During a pregnancy, close to the delivery time, if cervix is closed woman probably will not go in to labor. On the other hand if cervix is more than than 3 cms dilated and effaced, will go in labor soon or can be induced easily.
