This is so rare,...: that you should have a referral to a tertiary care center, to have an expert reviewing your care. If they concur that you should never have an x-ray, then you probably can have an MRI if you needed it. However, I suspect that the small amount of radiation in a normal x-ray would turn out to be okay. However, you should listen to your expert physician. Good luck.
